2. Tianjin TEDA Bio-medical Engineering Co., Limited (TEDA Bio-medical)

TEDA Bio-medical is established in 2000 and went public on the Growth Enterprise Market of Stock Exchange of Hong Kong in 2002. It is specialized in producing quality medical and health products including medical devices, natural medicines and health care food. In building a leading brand in bio-medical engineering, it focuses on technological innovation and improvement, and has been engaged actively in new product development via cooperation with key universities, research institutes and groups. Products already in production include Sodium Hyaluronate, medical monitoring devices, medical catheters and health care food for diabetics. They are currently working on the R&D of Curcumin and artificial lens.

3. BOYI(Tianjin) Pneumatic Technology Institute Co., Ltd.

As the very first incubated company started by a returned oversea Chinese student in TII in 1997, BOYI had gone through many difficulties in its early period and also been hit by the 1998 Asian financial crisis. It has then developed rapidly after three years¡¯ incubation in the TII and become the first graduated enterprise run by returned oversea Chinese students. The air pressure testing and control technology developed independently by BOYI is leading the way in the world and has filled up the vacancy in this field in China. A new plant had been put into production in 2006 and the expected total output in 2006 would amount to RMB 60 million.

4. Tianjin Wincosoft (Gold Abacus) Software Co., Ltd.

Tianjin Gold Abacus belongs to China¡¯s third largest and the fastest-growing management software corporation ¨C the Gold Abacus is headquartered in Chongqing. 5. National Peiyang Distillation Technology Engineering Limited Company (Peiyang Distillation or PYD)

PYD is a joint venture between Tianjin University (f/k/a Peiyang University) and the TII, with a total registered capital of RMB 55.68 million. With the backing of National Engineering Research Center of Distillation Technology (NERCDT), PYD focuses on the development of new distillation process, equipment and refining technologies to realize industrialization. Utilizing a total investment of RMB 60 million into the construction of its pre-production test and industrial bases, it now has sufficient equipment to allow economies of scale to be achieved, with a total output value of RMB 0.1 billion. PYD also boasts 14 patents, a highly educated workforce, advanced simulation software, and a strict quality control system.

6. Tianjin SinoBio-tech Ltd.

Founded in TII in 2004 with its technologies and managerial talents originated from Fortune Rock, Inc., USA, SinoBio-tech is specialized in product development and technical platform of gene therapy, aiming at innovation and R&D of gene-based drugs. By taking advantages of its highly experienced and educated workforce, independent IPRs and advanced technologies and equipment, SinoBiotech is engaged in gene product development and industrialization with reference to current situations of China¡¯s pharmaceutical and bio-technological industry. It has established extensive cooperation with domestic or overseas institutions such as pharmaceutical businesses, hospitals, institutional investors, governments and universities, striving to create its own high-tech products in the short run.

7. Tianjin Nanda-Qiangxin IC Design Co., Ltd. (Nanda-Qiangxin)

Nanda-Qiangxin is established in 2002 by three returned overseas Chinese talents from Japan. It is a specialized high-tech enterprise engaging in the design and development of LSI circuits. Having strong connection with Nankai University, Nanda-Qiangxin has received massive support from the government since its establishment and has succeeded in completing many advanced projects of high-grade and precision. Its core technologies include the design, preparation and application of new separation technologies and materials, surface modification of porous materials, and the use of Nano-materials in biochemical separation and detection. Bonna-Agela has developed its own consumable materials which have realized partial commercialization. Its surface treatment technique for silica gel has taken the lead in the industry with superior competitive advantage on the domestic market.
